Weekend Excitement

Good morning! Just stopping in to say hi!

I’m so excited because my sister is flying back to the USA this weekend. She lives in South Korea and she will be in town for about 10 days! I’m going to MN for a short weekend to visit her. Shoutout to Southwest for the really cheap flight I found. My sister moved to Korea in June 2015 for a teaching job at a hagwon, which is an after school program for students. Her hagwon teaches English to kids ages 6-16 starting in February of this year she started working at a technology app company called Azar. Check out her blog here. https://chlogoeshome.wordpress.com/

I was able to visit my sister for about two weeks in December and January of this year. We went to Thailand and explored Bangkok and the beach towns of Ao Nang and Krabi. After that, we went to South Korea where we met our cousins. My sister and I are both adopted from different families to white parents in the US. Two of my cousins were adopted in a similar fashion from South Korea and they came to visit my sister with me.

It will be so fun to see my sister for the first time in 8 months! It will be worth the trip to head back to the Midwest! We are also going to a baseball game which is a family favorite, even though the Twins have had a rough year.

Friday Faves-

My Confirmation Students- I teach confirmation to middle schoolers at a Lutheran church in south Denver. It has been one of my favorite parts of the week and I’m really glad the school year started again so I can see them around church.

Trader Joe’s Pesto, Pesto alla Genovese, Basil Pesto.  Put this on my fresh veggies this week– YUM

Acai Bowls- “Açaí may be hard to pronounce, but its health benefits and tastiness are hard to miss. Açaí is a little berrie from the Amazon that is wildly nutritious. It’s a superfruit powerhouse loaded with antioxidants, healthy fats, protein, and fiber. It tastes like mixed berries and dark chocolate (yum) and is naturally low-glycemic.” They are filled with fruit toppings, they make for a great breakfast or nutritious snack! I got this one from Paradise Bowls in Hermosa Beach. I also frequent BerrieGood in Denver.
