Happy long weekend and happy friday! I’ve been taking vacation for the last week and a half and studying for my personal trainer exam. I passed my exam!!!!!! I am a certified personal trainer! (A more detailed post on that later). I was in MN for a rainy weekend with friends and family, and this week I’ve been going back between tri training, studying, and errands.
Also, I saw this Great post about eating and a somewhat vegan diet. “Just think about this. It takes less than 500 gallons of water to produce a pound of chicken and just under 2,000 gallons of water to produce a pound of beef. Now, a pound of chickpeas (which will yield many more servings than a pound of meat) takes about 500 gallons of water. ALSO, farming animals ruins soil – raising crops of plants is much more sustainable and can feed more people. Eating more plant-based makes my body and my conscious feel better, and that’s why I do it.”
Tri Training Weeks 7 and 8
In terms of tri training, these last two weeks were a little different because of my trip to MN. I didn’t have access to a bike and I researched a place to swim at. I found this great pool in MN to use for a day, and I went to OTF Uptown with a friend.
In general, these last two weeks of training were really good. I was able to do some longer double workout days. On Sunday, I participated in the Colfax Marathon Relay for work. My leg was 6.1 miles, and I was able to bike 20 miles before the race. I felt great on the run, and my pace was 8:40. I was very happy with that. I also swam 1500 yesterday, and it went well! After swimming outside, the pool has felt wonderful.
I am getting very excited about race day! Only a few more workouts and then I will be a sharing a recap post soon!
In other news, I hope to get a photos lately post up soon and share some other non-fitness life things with you all! But I haven’t been great about taking a ton of photos. Also, anyone have fun plans for the long weekend? I’m heading to a bachelorette party in Southern CO today and I can’t wait! If you still have packing to do, check outthese packing tips!
