MN State Fair Recap

Hi everyone! Happy Monday, the weekend went way too fast as usual. I hiked up Pikes Peak this weekend with Brain Injury Alliance to raise money for Traumatic Brain Injuries. Also, on Saturday night my friends had a progressive dinner. We had appetizers, food, and drinks at five different houses moving South to North. It worked out really well and turned out to be so much fun! Can you believe that today is 16 years after 9/11. That means most high schoolers weren’t even alive on the day it happened. CRAZY TALK. Did you do anything fun this weekend? I wanted to share one of my MN highlights of the year– the MN State Fair with you guys!

The MN State Fair is a quite the event, it runs for about a week and a half ending on Labor Day. There is SOOO much food, and there are also rides, games, concerts, exhibits, etc. It’s in St. Paul, and somedays there are 90,000-100,000 who go there in one day. Some locals go multiple times in the couple of weeks! The Mn State Fair is all about family and friends and sharing time together while walking around and eating food. Sounds pretty great right?

I hadn’t been to the Fair since high school, and I was so excited that Abby Taggart Regan’s wedding brought me back in town! Seriously, the second I realized this about 2 months ago, I told my family to save the date that we were going. I even took the day off work for it hahaha.

My favorite food at the fair is Roasted Corn on the Cob. It always has been, and it probably always will be. Corn on the cob for ever. Happy as a cob!

My sister was hobbling on crutches due to her ankle, and so I convinced my dad to go on the Giant Slide with me. He didn’t seem very excited leading up to the event, but he did enjoy it.

Why not start the day with a glass of White Wine? It’s vacation right?

We got some mini donuts, cheese curds, and Sweet Martha’s Cookies. Sweet Martha’s Cookies are a highlight of the fair also. Most people leave the fair with a bucket of cookies, they are SOOO tasty and they are warm when you get them.

This year, I went through the Minnesota Art exhibit and I really liked it. It was full of art for sale by local artists, they were really cool to look at!

All in all, it was a great day with my family to start the weekend off right! Does your state have a good fair?

Linking up with Amanda today!
