Hi everyone, I told you about my May Challenge on May 1st. Just wanted to touch base with you and give you a May Challenge Update. In general its been really good. There are a few days where I have forgotten or skipped the challenge for a later workout.
Funny story, on May 1st which was a Monday, I forgot about my personal challenge. I didn’t sleep well and I turned off my alarm and slept in pretty late. Being aware of my wake up time and my bed time has helped me a lot. I feel like I wake up feeling better and more ready to face the work day.
By week two, this got a lot easier. I knew what my plan was, and I knew how to achieve it. I’m hoping to keep these positive habits up through the rest of the month and going forward. I have some vacation time in the next week so I may not have to set an early alarm. WIN! The best kind of day!
Here are some tips I found online about getting up earlier. A lot of them say to start your day by turning on all the lights in your apartment and getting a fresh glass of water.

Uninvited by Lysa Terkheurst- reading this with a small community group of girls 🙂 This book blows my mind every time I pick it up. I definitely recommend it.
Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly- well I’m supposed to be reading this one for my book club next week. To be honest, I haven’t read much. But I’m excited to start it and might even download it on audible.
Devil in the White City by Erik Larson- Just finished this one. This was my first audible book ever, and I really enjoyed it. With my schedule these past few weeks its been nice to listen in the car or on workouts. Otherwise, it would have taken me a lot longer to find the time to read this book. I really enjoyed the history behind the book, and I love the city of Chicago.
Two of my friends graduated with their masters this weekend. We had an elementary school themed party to celebrate! It was a lot of fun. One of my friends from MN got engaged a couple weeks ago, so excited for them!
My little sister has spent the month in South Korea visiting her bf and friends.I’m heading home on Wednesday after work to see my parents! Excited to spend the weekend with them. And see friends 🙂
Switched projects at work last week, and I will be driving about 30 minutes a few days a week. Hello podcast or audible time!
