Friday Faves #20

Happy Friday everyone. Did your week go fast? Mine went pretty fast which I was thankful for. As you all know, I haven’t been in Denver much in the past few weeks so I have been excited to see Denver friends recently. The simple things in life. I wish every week was 4 days. Next week, I’m taking Friday off too, so another 4 day week. Sadly, the trend ends after this week but I’ll take advantage for now. Buh-bye summer and hello fall work schedule 🙁 Onto this week’s Friday Faves #20

Friday Faves #20

  1. Into the Water- My book club choose this book, and it’s been really good so far. I’ve only read about 1/8 of the book, but I like it a lot. It’s emotional and keeps me guessing with the variety of characters. I’m learning that I like books that have different characters with lots of character development. And as always shout out to Audible.
  2. Fantasy football- this is my first year ever playing Fantasy Football, and I’m in two leagues. I think it will be a fun way to keep my interest in the NFL and maybe learn a few things.
  3. The Life We Bury- a few months ago, a friend recommended this book to me. I listened to it in about 36 hours last week, and it was thrilling. It was based around Minneapolis which was fun to listen to. The story kept me interested and captivated the whole time
  4. Spicy Mustard Roasted Chickpeas- this recipe by Ambitious Kitchen is awesome! It’s supposed to be 4 ingredients– chickpeas, ground mustard, olive oil, and cayenne pepper. I didn’t have cayenne, but I had red pepper flakes, its still delish! I’ll have to try it with cayenne sometime too!


Week in Workouts

This week has been pretty sad in terms of workouts, so not sure why I’m bringing this series back. But to share, I’ve got a musculoskeletal issue going on, and the main cure is to rest and take it easy. Luckily most of the pain has gone away, but there are still triggers– sleeping, running, biking, etc. Walking has been good though, and I’ve been trying to get a morning walk in. These last few days I’ve been hitting 12,000 steps plus and I even took the lightrail to work a few days (even more steps). I’m still trying to accept a new kind of normal in terms of workouts. But it’s a little hard for my active self. Any tips for me?
